Christmas is Coming

Hello my crafting friends,

Have you been scrambling around trying to finish up making your Christmas cards?!?! I have tried to work on them a little bit throughout the year, but somehow I always need to finish up one or two towards the end. I seem to always leave the insides for last, which probably isn't a smart thing. It takes almost  as much time to get the insides done as it took to make the card. Well, maybe not that long, but sometimes it feels like it.
This little darling is  found here  Scann0001. I just think she is so precious dragging her little sack around.
Go check out Scrapbook Stamp Society when you can. I am sure there will be loads of inspiration throughout the month.
Also, have you joined us on facebook?!?! You will see loads of wonderful projects there as well, plus you can always join in and show us what wonderful things you have come up with as well! :)
There are plenty of challenges going on to join in at all the My Besties sites. There are fabulous images as prizes to choose from if you win.  So go check those out if you haven't already.

Till next time!
Hugs, and happy crafting,
Sandy.

Hi my fellow crafters,

Today starts a new challenge over at My Besties Color It Create It Show It Off. The challenge runs from the 1st to the 29th of each month. The theme is always "Anything Goes".
This lovely image is from Sherri Baldy's Etsy Shop. The image is IMG692. I just think she is so adorable.
I always print out my images 3" which is probably a lot smaller than what most print there's at. The bow is from Poppy Stamps called Fluffy Bow. I used a Martha Stewart punch called Pine. The sentiment is from Verve Stamps called Christmas Blessings. I used Stickles Crystal for all the glittery stuff, and I colored her with my Copics.

I hope you get a chance to join in with the challenge this month. Pop back on the 15th for another look at cute Besties images made into a project.

Hugs, and happy crafting.

I used Spellbinders Lacey Circles which the gingerbread lady is placed on.The sentiment is from 4 Klear called Season's Greetings, and the tag is a die from Verve Stamps. I colored the image with my Copics, and that's basically all it took to make this card.

I hope you get chance to join in with this challenge. Pop back on the 15th for another look at a cute Besties image made into a project.

Hugs, and happy crafting,

I just had to choose a My Besties image for my last project. :) I love My Besties images. They happen to be my favorite of all! :)
Since it was winter, and not specifically Christmas, I chose to go with warm colors. I imagine sitting by the warm fireplace drinking a cup of hot chocolate. Snuggling up to my hubby and watching a good movie. Oh wait, football season is still in December. We probably would be watching that if it falls on the right day, lol.

My Besties International Challenge Blog

I am happy to say, I now am on the My Besties International Challenge DT. :)
The challenge this go around is "Anything Goes"with an option of Fall theme.
This little cutie can be found at the My Besties Etsy store. The image is IMG413.
I have heard her being on the cover of the My Besties Back To School Coloring Book. She looks fabulous colored on the front cover. So perfect for back to school theme.
I went another route with her since fall is in the air. I don't know about you, but I have grand kids that love to go outside and hunt for different colored leaves, etc. They are into bugs on the tree, plants, you name it. They are mostly girls too, lol.
This was an easy card, as I didn't use much supplies. The brown skinny trees in the background are from Memory box called, "Woodland Branch". The other dies I used are from Impression Obsession- Die-079-U (The White Trees), and DIE-095-D (The Leaves). I colored her with my Copics and typed and printed the sentiment. That pretty much is it.
Please come visit us on facebook. We would love for you to share your creations with us there too. Don't forget to enter this challenge for a chance at winning some wonderful My Besties digis!

Scrapbook Stamp Society

Hello my crafting friends,

I am here to share with you a card that I made for my Scrapbook Stamp Society post using this wonderful My Besties IMG925.
This is one of my favorites so far. I used my favorite color combo on this card. I just think red, white, and black look so classy together. If you are ever stuck on a color combo, just remember you pretty much can't go wrong using these colors together. ;)
I will post the supplies I used at the end of my blog post if you are interested.

I wanted to share another card I made using IMG898. Isn't he a real cutie! Actually, I just found out depending on how you color this image, it could go either way, boy or girl. Oh, shoot, I wish I would have taken a picture showing you both ways.
This is my tip of the day:
This background is so fast and easy to make. My hubby always refers to it as a painted background, lol when all it really is is inks that I have used. If you have a tree stamp, stamp the darkest trees in the front first. Then lighter in the background. All of the trees were stamped with black ink. I pulled out my trusty dauber and inked the trees green. Trying to stay with the darker green out front and then lighter applying with the ink for the background trees. I wiped the dauber and then used light baby blue ink starting with in between the trees at the bottom. Next I used orange ink, and finally I worked up to the top of the sky using yellow ink. That's it! Now you have a pretty cool looking background and no one will believe it only took a few minutes to do. :)

Well, that's it for today!
Come check My Besties out on facebook if you haven't already. We would love to see you there!
Go check out the wonderful images Sherri has been coming out with lately as well. Here is a link to her store.

Hugs, and happy crafting,
Sandy.

Supplies I used on the first card:

EK Success- Flourish Scroll
Memory Box- Frosty Border
Cottage Cuttz- Tea Time Doily, and Plumeria & Leaves
Paper Smooches- Loopy Leaves
Liquid Applique- White

My Sheri Crafts- #194- Thanksgiving

Today at My Sheri Crafts, the challenge is "Thanksgiving". It pretty much is self explanatory on this one.:)
I chose a Tilda image. She looks so fitting for a Thanksgiving card don't you think. :)
I used AC Specialty Foil Paper to give it a nice shine. I had a Cuttlebug folder called, " Leaf Branch" I thought seemed very festive. I embossed using it. The background paper is from The Paper Studio, Rust/Mint Geometrics. The other paper is from Miss Caroline, "Dilly Dally"Designer Paper Pad.The sentiment is from Verve Stamps called, " Bountiful Harvest, Harvest Blessings. I colored in with my Copics, and that pretty much is it.

Please come out and participate with us. We would love to see what you have made!

Hugs, and happy crafting!

Scrapbook Stamp Society

Hello my crafty friends!

I am excited to say I am now on the Besties DT for Scrapbook Stamp Society. :) I will be posting once a month on the 13th! I am very fortunate to be able to show you two cards that I made using two of the images that you are eligible to win at the SSSC blog for the month of October. At SSS there are so many wonderful creations by my fellow DT members. You should come over and check it out! Plus, they share crafting tips often.
For my first card, I am using IMG734. I just think she is as cute as can be.
The card base is 4 1/2 x 6 1/2. I colored the image with my Copics. The bottom of her dress and her wings both are very sparkly. I actually broke out my Cricut for both of these cards I am showing today. I used the Happy Hauntings for the witch and tree on this card.
If you look at the image down below, you will notice that I did cut out the bats. It just wouldn't have looked right if I tried to add them.

For my next card, I am using IMG072. Isn't she a real beauty! :)
This is an easel card. The base is 5x5 when folded. I used the Cricut cartridge Life is a Beach for the flip flops, birds, and the life guard tower. Oh, and the sand bucket and shovel too. I used the Cuttlebug folder Swiss Dots to emboss the sand to give it some texture. She is colored with my Copics also.

For the tip of the day, always keep a white gel pen next to you just in case you ever go out of lines while coloring. ;)

Go check out all the new release images if you haven't already!

Hugs, and happy crafting!
Sandy.

Merry Christmas!

Hey there,

Over at My Besties International the challenge is anything goes. I had bought this image awhile back and wanted to start making a few Christmas cards. So, I decided to enter this challenge and see what happens.

I happen to LOVE Sheri Baldy images! :)
I usually always make my card base 5x5 if I am doing a square card. It fits better in the envelope for me.
Supplies I used:
Spellbinders- Labels Eighteen, and Fleur De Lis Square
Poppystamps- Simple Banner
4 Klear Stamps- Season's Greeting
Liquid Applique- White
Tim Holtz- Distressed Ink- Frayed Burlap
Memento- Tuxedo Black
Stampabilities- Baby Blue
Scraps, and Copics

I am also entering this challenge at Scrapbook Stamp Society!
